Case study: Bramblewick Guest House

Bramblewick Guest House in Scarborough came to me for a budget website almost a year ago. This year, they'd received just a couple of attributable enquiries and wanted to improve the site and improve its position in the search engines, plus they wanted new photographs because they'd added new furniture and redecorated. www.bramblewickguesthouse.co.uk home page

I worked on the text they'd provided. It didn't need a huge lot of work, but I added a lot of links and added more popular keyphrases to help people find them using search engines.

I took new photographs with a nice new wide-angle lens which makes it possible to show more of a room in a single shot and so give a more realistic impression of what it would be like to stand in the room. After taking those photographs, it was a beautiful spring day so I wandered around locally and took the one of Peasholm Park and those of North Bay to add a little something extra. The screen grab shown above doesn't really show the new photographs, you'll have to go to the website and scroll down to see those.

This client wasn't online when I saw her last year, but this time she's fully equipped so I've added an email address too, and we've purchased hosting so that Google doesn't display a frames error as a description.

I also took the necessary steps to get Bramblewick Guest House included in Google Maps local search.

Overall this needed £260 plus about £40 per year for hosting.
