Railway Cottage is a self catering holiday cottage in Ruswarp, near Whitby, on the banks of the river Esk.
I visited the owner at the start of March, took interior photographs and some of the village and surroundings, and discussed the text.
Although it's a fairly straightforward website, I am pleased that by taking a wider view of the project and taking photographs of the village and surroundings, I was able to bring something additional to the project.
I've also started using a more rigorous testing regime. The site is, obviously, valid HTML and CSS, but it's also been tested with nearly eighty combinations of screen size, browser and operating system and it works well in all.
This took 6.75 hours overall, costing just over £300 plus £25 for the domain name, mileage and photo development (in future I'll be using a digital camera).
The client said: "The web site to date is looking good. I like the idea of a change of pictures each time the web site is visited.", "I am very pleased with the outcome of the website - it looks really good and you have included lots of additional information", and "Overall I am very happy with your service and will recommend you to others".
Update 19 September 2007: The client has since provided updated text, so that's no longer mine although it still includes many of the links.
