Chris Pollard is a local, Scarborough, Driving instructor who wanted an affordable website to promote his business.
His style with these things is, and I agree in this case, to be succinct, so it's not very wordy .. it doesn't need to be. I'll be watching how that affects the search engine position, I think it should be favourable.
He provided the main photograph, but I took a studio shot of the materials and nipped out to take a photograph of a traffic light at green. The yellow patterning down the left hand side is the amber light turned into a tile. The three colours are taken directly from my traffic light photographs so they should provide subliminal associations .. if you actually look at a green traffic light it's not actually very green, there's quite a lot of blue in it too.
Actually there are two domains pointing to this site, cpollarddrivingschool.co.uk and drivingschoolscarborough.co.uk which was suggested to him and it didn't seem to do much harm to have both. He'll use the former as the main site, though.
The site's been tested in over a hundred combinations of browser, screen size and operating system, and it's valid HTML.
I'm working on some Internet marketing techniques at the moment and that has started to influence my writing style, this is where you'll first sense that.
Chris first contacted me in mid-April, but we first met to get the project started on the 1st May. The project went live on the 16th having taken 10.5 hours and an investment of just over £472.50.
The client said "That's good work, John, I like it".
