Be a website usability tester

One of the most important tasks in website development is testing a design with real users. A website must be usable, and only real users can tell me whether it is.

As a result, I'm looking for testers. The key to this is going to be diversity. I'm looking for people from all walks of life, particularly:

The work will be (very) occasional, and probably require just an hour each time. By far the majority of tests are things I send you over email to do at your own computer. For the keen, willing and local it's possible I may want to visit you to watch how you interact with a site, but that's not happened yet.

Of course, you will be paid for your time. I currently pay £10 per hour.

You will be asked to provide information about yourself that will help me to choose the right testers for each site. I will also store my assessment of the quality of feedback you provide. All this will be kept securely and will not be sold or otherwise passed on to anyone else. You will be able to create and manage your own profile online, or you can ask me to do it, and you will be able to remove yourself from the program whenever you wish.

If you are interested, fill out the form. When I next get a project that's appropriate, I'll get in touch.

Only the email and password fields are required. I recognise some of the questions are very personal, so please only answer the questions you're comfortable answering. You can provide as much or as little information as you like, but the more I know the more likely it is I'll find 'hooks' to link you to any particular test, and the more useful the results will be.

Any information you provide will be treated confidentially, stored securely, will never be passed to anyone else (except as required by law), and will be removed on request. Also, data held but not used by me or checked by you for over a year will be removed, although I'll email you before that happens.
